I agree with posters in other threads that the 3 battery lite is definitely brighter than the 2 cell one although I... The 3AA I believe used a 1st or second generation luxeon probably 60 lumens/watt while newer mags probably use 100-120 lumens/watt LEDs so even with 1 less battery should run longer at the same light level. The 3AA version is not new, but the 2AA ATEX and 3AA Laser ATEX are both recent additions for Streamlight, adding more options to this Intrinsically Safe range.
